Play Blackjack at mm3k and prove your card skills
Blackjack is one of the most popular card games among Myanmar players — simple rules, real strategy, and live dealers available 24/7 at mm3k.
What is Blackjack?
Blackjack is a card game played in casinos worldwide where players compete directly against the dealer. The goal is to get as close to 21 as possible — or hit exactly 21 — without going over the dealer's total. If your total goes over 21, that is called a "Bust" and you lose.
At mm3k you can play in different formats including Standard Blackjack, Live Blackjack, and Speed Blackjack, so there is a game to suit every type of player.
An Ace counts as either 1 or 11. King, Queen, and Jack each count as 10. Cards from 2 to 10 are counted at face value.
Card Values and Basic Rules
Understanding card values in Blackjack helps you make better decisions at every step of the game.
Ace Card
An Ace can be counted as 1 or 11 depending on the total in your hand. If you can count it as 11 without going over 21, that is called a "Soft Hand".
Face Cards
King, Queen, Jack — these three cards look different but all count as 10. When any one of them pairs with an Ace, that is a "Natural Blackjack", which pays the highest rate and wins immediately.
Number Cards
Cards from 2 to 10 are counted at face value. For example, a 7 card is simply worth 7, which keeps the adding straightforward.
Hit and Stand
Hit — take one more card. Stand — stay with your current hand. Which you choose depends on your strategy and the dealer's card.
Double Down and Split
Double Down — double your initial bet and take exactly one more card. Split — split two identical cards into two separate hands and play both — this can double your chances of winning.
Insurance Bet
If the dealer's face-up card is an Ace, the player can place an Insurance bet at half the original stake. If the dealer has Blackjack, the Insurance bet pays out at 2 to 1.
How to Use Basic Strategy in Blackjack
Basic Strategy is a mathematically proven method that tells you whether to Hit, Stand, Double Down, or Split based on your hand total and the dealer's face-up card. Using this strategy lets you make the best possible decision every time and reduce your losses.
| Player's Total | Dealer's Face-Up Card | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| 8 and below | Any card | Hit |
| 9 | 3 – 6 | Double Down |
| 10 – 11 | 2 – 9 | Double Down |
| 12 – 16 | 2 – 6 | Stand |
| 12 – 16 | 7 – Ace | Hit |
| 17 and above | Any card | Stand |
| Ace + 6 (Soft 17) | 3 – 6 | Double Down |
| Matching pair (Pair 8s) | Any card | Split |

Memorising Basic Strategy can significantly reduce the house edge in Blackjack and makes every decision more meaningful for the player.

Understanding the mistakes players commonly make will help you think more carefully and play smarter.
Taking Insurance without knowing what it is
Blackjack experts repeatedly warn that Insurance is a bet that works against the player in the long run. If you play Basic Strategy, you should generally avoid Insurance.
Standing on 16 against a dealer's 7
When the dealer's face-up card is 7, standing on a hand total of 16 is not the correct strategy — you should Hit.
Not Splitting a pair of 5s
A 5+5 pair totals 10, and Double Down puts you in a much better position than Splitting, so not Splitting them is the right call.
Manage your budget
Setting a session budget before you play and sticking to the decision to stop once that amount is gone — without changing your mind — is a core principle of responsible gambling.
